Create Your Own Spa Day at Home with Primula Tea, Tea Pots, and Tea Kettles

      5 minute read

It seems that life is more stressful than usual these days. We get it, and we’re here to help you. (with a tea-themed spa day at home).

Every once in a while, you should set aside some time to #TreatYoSelf. We’ll leave it up to Tom and Donna from Parks and Recreation to explain how to Treat. Yo. Self.

Now that you’ve been briefed on treating yoself, we have a grand spa day planned with the pampering help of some delicious, high quality, healthy tea.

Start your day off with a green tea facial mask

A relaxing facial is a great way to relax, and it will help get your spa day off to a relaxing start. After applying the face mask, spend some time resting your eyes and taking deep breaths. For those of you that meditate, this would be a great time to practice some meditation.

Thanks to the folks over at numitea.com, they have skincare tricks that use three simple ingredients to give your complexion some love.

Mix up 1 bag of green tea (grind it down to a fine powder using a mortar and pestle), ½ teaspoon of baking soda and 1 ½ teaspoon of raw honey. Rinse your face and pat it dry, apply the face mask, let sit for 10 minutes (or 5 minutes for sensitive/dry skin), and then rinse off with water. For maximum effects, gently rub your skin in small circular motions to exfoliate as you remove the mask. Dry your skin and apply a facial lotion.

Each person’s hair is so different, and thanks to the folks over at theindianspot.com, they give some tips on washing hair with tea for healthy, gorgeous hair. For detailed instructions, check out http://theindianspot.com/wash-hair-with-tea/

Feeling relaxed yet? Now it’s time to try a green tea body sugar scrub for healthy skin

The normal day-to-day of life is hard on your body, especially your skin. Removing dead skin cells is an important part of any skincare routine, helping your skin look fresh and rejuvenated.

Over at livesimply.me, they created a fantastic green tea sugar scrub that is perfect for exfoliating and also uses a simple 4-ingredient recipe with stuff you probably already have in the house.

Combining green tea, sugar, olive oil and raw honey, this body scrub can be whipped up in two minutes so you can enjoy the entirety of your spa day.

Head on over to http://livesimply.me/2015/07/03/diy-homemade-green-tea-exfoliator/ for the green tea body sugar scrub recipe and directions. She also breaks down how each ingredient is beneficial for your skin and how to apply it to your skin.

Soak your tension away with a teatox bath

Now that you’ve whipped your pores into shape, gave your hair some love and cleansed your body of dead skin cells, you can soak in a detox bath with the help of tea.

Throw 10-15 green tea bags in the tub and fill with warm water. Let the tea bags steep for about 15-20 minutes before taking them out. Depending on your heat tolerance, you may want to run the bath a bit warmer than usual so it’s the right temperature after steeping with the tea bags. Once the tea bags have steeped, take them out and hop in the tub to get all the healing benefits of a green teatox bath.

For an added benefit, you can add Epsom salts to your bath.

As always, don’t forget to moisturize after your bath!

End your day with a nice cup of high quality tea

To cap off your tea spa day, a cup of some Primula flowering tea is the perfect way to relax. Grab your tea kettle and start heating your water on the stove. Get your glass teapot and add a flowering tea ball of your choice to the empty teapot. Once the kettle whistles, add the hot water into the glass teapot and watch the flowering tea bloom into a beautiful flower.

      Final Point of Brew

Sometimes, life can get the best of us. It’s important to give yourself some time to wind down and relax, even if it’s in small increments. We love the concept of a #TreatYoSelf spa day because it makes you set time aside for yourself to pamper yourself and unwind. Even if you set a day on the calendar once per year, it’s better than not taking time for yourself at all.

If a spa day isn’t your idea of treating yourself, come up with a customized day doing things that you really enjoy doing that relaxes you. Some might pack up and head to the beach and dive into a good book. and some might want to just go for a hike with the dog. Whatever your relaxation destination, just make sure you get there.
